Girls Tag Rugby – well done to the Year 5/6 girls tag rugby team who played in a festival. They all played well and supported each other as a team. It was a fun afternoon with lots of great rugby.
Evening of dance – Class 4 amazed us all by performing the two dances they have been learning in class at an evening of dance. This was held at Everest Community Academy and they performed alongside performers from the secondary school.
Sport Relief – Well done everyone who ran a mile for sport relief! We have raised over £1100 at the last count! Super fundraising!
Year 5/6 tag rugby league matches – the team played their final league matches for the year. They won all three matches and are hoping to be the overall winners of the league. We will find out at the Sparkling rugby festival.
Year 5/6 squash – A group of Year 5 and 6 children competed in a squash competition as part of their final lessons this half term. They played against two other schools from Basingstoke and had to play three different sports. They came 1st and 2nd! Congratulations!
Monday 16th April – girls cricket taster session
Thursday 26th April – Year 3/4 tag rugby sparkling festival
Friday 27th April – Year 5/6 tag rugby sparkling festival
Friday 27th April – KS1 Football competition
Friday 4th May – Sports Festival with Change 4 Life leaders
Tuesday 8th May – Year 3/4 tennis competition
Class 1 and 2 will be having cricket coaching as part of the Chance to Shine programme so we are hoping for some sunny days!
Class 3 will be learning maypole and country dances ready to perform at the May Festival. They will also be learning about different balances in their gymnastics.
Class 4 will be learning tennis from a Totally Tennis Coach. Year 5s will also be doing gymnastics lead by Coach Ashley.
All classes have started their golden mile running and have been working hard to reach the mile markers. We have lots of children who have already run 5 miles and who are well on their way to 10 miles. Lots of the children have been saying that they are able to run further. It has been a good energy boost at the start and end of the day as well as in-between lessons.
