Yoga for everyone

At the beginning of the term, we had Michael from Yoga for Schools to introduce the whole school to Yoga. We all had great fun practising our good sitting and learning some yoga stances. We are all going to be trying it out in class now.

Tag Rugby

The Year 5/6 tag rugby team played in their first league matches on October 2nd. Everyone played brilliantly and there was some excellent tagging and try scoring. We won both our matches and our now looking forward to our next ones after half term.

Class 3 enjoyed a tag rugby inter-school competition last week. Everyone played a couple of games and we were refereed by two Year 6 young leaders. We had a great time and everyone showed good teamwork! Thank you to Seth and Patrick who did an excellent job at refereeing.

School Sports Organising Crew

We have appointed a new School Sports Organising Crew with Daisy, Leo, Muhammed and Sullivan being responsible for organising sports events, thinking of ideas to bring more sport into school and giving everyone an opportunity to try something different. So far they have organised a tag rugby competition, ordered new equipment, researched a class trip and given suggestions for new sports. We look forward to seeing what they come up with!

In Class

Class 1 and 2 have been enjoying their keep fit sessions with Coach Debs. They have been building up their running stamina, learning about different exercises to help develop their fitness and developing their multi-skills.

Class 3 have been learning skills for tag rugby. They have learnt about passing accurately and catching securely. They have thought about tactics for avoiding being tagged and developed our teamwork. They have enjoyed using all their skills when playing some mini-matches. Class 3 have also been looking at balancing in gymnastics. They have been perfecting their individual balances as well as their partner balances. They are looking forward to showing the other classes and their parents their final routines.

Class 4 have been swimming at the aquadrome again this year. Some have even done their lifesaving skills; having to perform a number of exercises whilst wearing clothes!

Year 5s have also been learning dodgeball skills with Coach Ashley and they will be teaching Years 3 and 4 how to play dodgeball next term. Year 6s have been having their Young Leaders training. They have been making up their own games with rules. Soon they will be using their skills to run lunchtime activities.
