Collective Worship

Collective Worship happens every day at Sherborne St John C of E Primary School.

On a Monday, the whole school gathers together.

On a Tuesday and Thursday, we have Key Stage Worships. This gives the children the opportunity to reflect and respond in a more intimate setting.

On a Wednesday, the whole school comes together and a member of the team from St Andrew's leads us in worship. We also have our hymn practice in this worship.

On a Friday, we all gather together as a school.

What is a prayer? | Deccan Herald

We always begin our Collective Worships by gathering together in prayer. We often use the following prayer:

Dear God,

Show us who you are and how you want us to be.

Make Earth more like Heaven.

Amen

Our Collective Worships follow a half-termly theme, with children learning from different Bible stories. We often use stories, videos, role play and Bible readings to help us learn and reflect on the word of God. We then have an opportunity to consider how we can put our faith into action and we regularly hear stories of people who have done this and act as role models to us.
